Connecting with Nature while Practicing Social Distancing

Last week I decided to cease taking my walks for a week and I said I'd re-evaluate to determine if I should continue to hold off on them. I live in a shared building, so I touch things like elevator buttons and common doors. In addition to all of that, I hold my crutches. Since the pandemic is still ongoing, I decided to take at least another week off from my walks.

Anyone who knows me knows how important my walks are to me. They are a form of meditation and I find that connecting with nature is very grounding. So I'm having to find alternate ways to achieve the same kind of fulfillment.

I took the following two pictures from my balcony on the day of the spring equinox. Some cherry trees are already blooming, but this is a different kind of cherry tree that always blooms later than others. I will be tracking its progress as it blooms.

I'll be sure to keep you posted on its progress, so I hope you'll keep checking back!
