Puzzle 22 to end 2022!

Happy New Year! I hope your 2023 is merry and bright!

How about a puzzle to start the year? Bell and I completed this one in 2:26 with 35 non-rotating pieces. Your turn! Feel free to share in the comments how long it took you and if you altered the puzzle in any way. 

The picture was taken my most recent walk. It was about 23 degrees and I was so happy to make it outside in time to see the lamp posts still lit while they were decorated. It was shortly before sunrise on a brisk and perfectly clear morning.

Puzzle 21

It's been a while since I've posted a puzzle, but here we go with another one! We are way past colorful leaves, but isn't it nice we can be there again through pictures? This puzzle took me 2:39 to complete with 35 non-rotating pieces. Would you like to give it a try? You should be able to change the number of pieces if you wish to make it easier or harder.

Puzzle 20

 It's time for a new puzzle from my collection of pictures! One of the few things I love about summer is that the crepe myrtles bloom. This picture was taken just outside the front entrance to my building. I completed the puzzle in 18:12 with 108 non rotating pieces. You have the option to change the number pieces if you have a different preference. Just click on the puzzle piece icon in the bottom right. That will take you to Jigsaw Planet. Then click on "Play as" in the top right to change the number of pieces.

Puzzle 19

Just like last month, this month's puzzle is an individual, not collaborative, effort. You should be able to complete the puzzle directly from my blog and I think you can customize it for the number of pieces you wish to work with. The picture is from my July collection. In the comments, feel free to tell me the time it took you to complete and how you customized it. The pieces are not rotatable and I don't think you can change that. Have fun!

Puzzle 18

I am trying something different for this month's puzzle. I'm using a different website and not using my own picture this time. I want to see if everyone will be able to work on their own puzzle this way, instead of it being a collective effort. Hover over the icons at the bottom of the puzzle to play or change the settings. 

So give it a go and let me know if you're able to start the puzzle from scratch and finish it. If it's a yes from multiple people, I'll know it works. If it works, I should be able to use my own picture on this website for the next puzzle.

Happy New Year to All and Happy Birthday to Qandi!

Happy New Year to all and Happy 17th birthday to sweet Qandi! While she certainly keeps me on my toes and faces more challenges each year, it feels so good to say this year she's doing better than she was a year ago. After being shaved last January due to severe matting, her fur has finally almost completely grown back. While she rarely grooms, she does allow me to brush her now, so that will help. She is no longer able to swallow hard food, but she loves it soaked and mashed. Her appetite is very good and her demeanor is calmer now that she has a way to eat her hard food. It seemed to be frustrating to her when she couldn't eat it. While she is blind, she seems to be able to tell light from dark. She stays in her "apartment" (a small section of the living room) most of the time, with the occasional supervised outing on a chair, as pictured here. She celebrated her birthday by escaping from her apartment.😂😂😂 So my job now is to figure out another way to block off that area. Shouldn't be too difficult, but time will tell.🙃

Puzzle 10 and A is for Amber

Each day for the next 26 days, I will take a letter of the alphabet and write about one thing I'm grateful for that begins with that letter. This is something I used to do every November in an online forum that ended in January of 2020. While that platform no longer exists in the same way, we can still continue the tradition here! This is the second year I'll be doing this on my blog.

A is for amber. It's a color commonly found around here in the fall. Amber is a warm, mysterious color that is not quite yellow and not quite orange. It's especially striking when it's kissed by the early morning sunlight.

Puzzles 3 and 4

I couldn't decide which of these to use as my next puzzle, so to celebrate the end of winter, I decided to use both. I love them both, but the one with the fountain is my favorite that I took in February. Just click on the pictures to get started!

Puzzle 2

Well done, my blog visitors and fellow puzzle enthusiasts! Together we have completed the first puzzle on my blog! (You can click on "Puzzles" on the right sidebar to see all of the ones I have shared. I recommend using the desktop version to view my blog.)

The next puzzle is more challenging than the first one I posted because the picture is not shown at all! 😁 It is one of my own pictures, so if you've seen even just some of my pictures, you have a bit of a hint.

Just click HERE to get started! It should open a new window with the puzzle. This puzzle has about 350 rotating pieces. My intention is for several people to work on it on your own time over a period of time until it is complete. You don't need to save anything when you leave. Once pieces are locked into their correct spot, they will stay that way even if you close the screen and go back to it later. If you lose track of the link, you can always come back and just click on "HERE" again! Don't be alarmed if you see pieces magically being moved around. That just means someone else is in there working on it, too! 

If you prefer to start with the frame, you can hide the other pieces by clicking on the rectangle at the top center of the puzzle board that has the right corner shaded in. You can always switch it back to view all pieces even if you are not the one who set it that way. If you choose to keep it so you only see the end pieces, the rest of the pieces will automatically reappear once the frame is complete. Isn't that cool?😀

When this puzzle is complete, I will post a new one.
