Remembering Jason Two Years Later

Two years ago today, my good friend, Jason, departed from this crazy world.

In the midst of the pandemic, I often wonder what life on Earth would be like for him right now. Later in life, he spent a great deal of time living in a rehab center - the kind of facility that has been hit hard with the virus. Would he be able to see his family or would he be completely isolated from his loved ones? When would I be able to visit him? How well taken care of would he be, given the current state of the virus?

I miss him more than words can say, but I'm also grateful that he doesn't have to deal with any of this. He's in the safest place possible, away from all of the hardships that this world is facing.

I'm posting this picture that I took a month or two ago in honor of him. He knew how terrified I am of bees (yes, even your friendly, fuzzy, neighborhood ones like these). We often laughed about this fear I have. He would be proud of me for standing in front of these flowers long enough to take pictures of not one, but TWO bees. There were even more around at the time that are not in the picture. Yay me!

This one's for you, Jason. Continue to rest in peace, my friend.
