The Gift of a New Day

Every second of every day is a gift to be cherished. However, my favorite time of day to walk is what is sometimes referred to as morning civil twilight. It begins at the start of the blue "hour" and ends at sunrise. To me, during civil twilight, the air is freshest and the sky is most colorful, especially when the clouds are just right. Seeing my feathered friends rising with the sun makes me feel alive. If I'm lucky, I'll see the moon, the brightest of the brightest stars, and a planet before the sun makes its grand entrance. Nothing prepares me better for the day than my morning civil twilight walks, with nature as my companion. This is what I call the wrapping paper around God's gift of a new day.
