My Grateful Day

A quote from Bella Grace that resonates with me
It's Saturday night and I'm sitting here reflecting on my past few days, wanting to share ALL OF IT with you. Sigh. That's my challenge with blogging. Things happen and I want to immediately blog about it. Obviously, that isn't possible. If I sit at the computer blogging about everything I experience...well then I wouldn't have time to experience anything. So here's an attempt to share the highlights.

I watched two movies over the past few days - Cinderella (2015 live-action version) and Captain America: The First Avenger. It was my first time seeing Cinderella and my third time seeing The First Avenger. I have movie reviews in my head waiting to be released, but they will have to wait for another day.  I also started watching The Avengers. Iron Man and Thor together in one movie?  Yeah, I'm good with that.

In other grateful news, don't you just love when people put the finishing touches on a good deed? It's like the icing on an already delicious cake. (Well, actually, that would be whipped cream on strawberry shortcake, since that's my favorite dessert, but I digress. I'm good at digressing.)

Getting back to the finishing touches on a good deed. I went to pick up cat food today and I asked for help to take it to my car. (Contrary to what this photo may imply, I only have one five-pound cat. I buy her food in bulk.) Not only did the store employee take the food to Reese (my car); he went the extra mile to seatbelt it in without my even requesting this!

When I got home, I took a walk for the first time in several days. It was chilly (low 30's), but I layered up and it felt great, especially in the sunshine, which we have not had a lot of in the past week.

Anyone who says there's no color in the winter has yet to notice the beauty in the evergreens.

Perhaps a squirrel had a feast on this beautifully, messy pine cone?

The picture doesn't do it much justice, but this rock was sparkling in the sunshine!

An interesting shrub that always captures my attention. The birds and squirrels love it, too.

I took this picture to remember the moment when I thought a large butterfly or moth flew directly in front of me. When I looked to my left, I noticed it was a small woodpecker who didn't seem to mind my company. Can you see it on the left side of tree close to the bottom of the picture?

Okay, I feel better now that I've shared at least part of my day with you. I better get to bed because there is more to be experienced tomorrow!
