Movie Days

In January of last year, I set a goal to watch one movie each month. Lofty goal, I know. The reason I set this goal was simply to create more leisure time for myself. I tend to stick to the "must dos" and neglect the "want to dos". Penning in "Movie Day" on the calendar each month ensured that I made time to fill my cup.

There is no need to write them on the calendar anymore because it's gotten to the point where I watch several movies a month.  Okay, let's be honest. Sometimes I watch several movies in one week. I suppose I've become a bit of a movie addict, but I'm not quite ready to admit that yet.

I have been thinking that I could marry my newfound love for watching movies and my desire to do more blogging, so that is what I'll attempt to do in this corner of Stringtown. I have to be honest...again. Although it has improved since I started watching more movies, my attention span with them is not great. I rarely watch one movie in one sitting, which is why I usually prefer to watch them at home than at the theater. I sometimes miss key details when I watch them the first time around. (Gotta love the rewind button!)

My movie genre of choice is "not yet seen". I bet you didn't even know that was a genre. Yep! For me it is. I like watching movies for the first time. I find the new experience refreshing, no matter which category it falls into. I will watch almost any genre if it's a movie I haven't seen before.

The reviews I write will not be the typical kind you read with lots of details and examples from certain scenes. I do appreciate those and read them often, but mine will be shorter and less detailed. I'm a movie addict (ooops, I wasn't ready to admit that), not a movie expert.

But that's where you all come in. For each movie I review, I would appreciate your insight. Did I miss something important? Do you have a different perspective? Is it worth watching again to pick up on things I didn't notice before? Feel free to chime in with a comment or two!

In the meantime, give me some ideas for movies to watch and perhaps you'll see a review of them on my blog!
