“Life is a train of moods like a string of beads; and as we pass through them they prove to be many colored lenses, which paint the world their own hue, and each shows us only what lies in its own focus.” -Ralph Waldo Trine

Gratitude - Permission to Skip the Walk
Today I'm grateful for giving myself permission to skip my walk and do some blogging instead. I had an idea for a movie review, but couldn't find the words to get it out yesterday. Today when I woke up, my thought process flowed much more easily. My computer wasn't on yet when I thought of what I was going to say, so I opened my note-taking app on my phone and recorded my thoughts there. A little while later, after meditating and while sipping on my breakfast smoothie, I went straight to the computer and composed my blog post. It took longer than I thought it would (that ALWAYS seems to be the case for me), but I'm happy with the results. By the time I finished, it was almost time for lunch. I decided it was best to eat on time (on my time, but I sometimes eat lunch way later than I should even when I'm hungry) rather than try to fit my walk in. Walking in the afternoon wasn't an option because there were other things I needed to focus on. While I do love my walks, I need to continue to remind myself about balance. All things in moderation - even my walks.
