No other genre of books has ever made me so excited about reading, so much so that I find myself having to set limits so that I don't spend too much time reading and therefore neglecting everything else! Cozy mysteries involve a main character who is an amateur detective. There is usually a heinous crime committed in a small town, but the stories focus not on the murder itself, but on the clues to help solve the mystery. The reader tries to solve the "puzzle" along with the amateur detective and others who are working with her (it's usually a woman who is the main character). Since cozy mysteries focus on solving the crime using clues, they are not graphic or gory. Sure, the murder scene is briefly described, but then it quickly moves on. Also, the main character in cozy mysteries often has a cat or other pet. I also enjoy cozy mystery movies, but so far, the books have been better. I think one reason why I enjoy cozy mysteries is because I like to work on puzzles. The cozy aspect makes it more enjoyable for me.
C is for cats of course!
